…paid me a visit this morning! Snowfall at Willow Lake is up for a RITA Award.
The call came from the lovely and talented Lorraine Heath, who is also up for the award for her historical romance.
Winners will be announced this summer at the RWA National Conference.
Wish us luck in the RITA smackdown!

Dear Susan, my new favorite writer! 5 things you should know:
1. I discovered you at Goodwill! I asked for assistance from a grouchy looking woman shelving books. She was wearing a really heinous Tim McGraw t-shirt that I complimented her on…in hopes that she would help me find my book faster. Then she told me if I liked Debbie Macomber, I would LOVE you and that she has read the Lakeshore Chronicles series. So she found me Summer at Willow Lake. THEN another woman overheard us and said, “The Winter Lodge” is over here!” She picked it up and placed it in my waiting hands. T-shirt Lady proceeded to tell me the story line of every L.C. book…and damn near spoiling Fireside! (Consequently, I purchased the full L.C. series…I had to have each one so that I could start them immediately! Cha-Ching!)
2. I freakin’ loved Snowfall at Winter Lake! I fully expected to hate Sohpie Bellamy and was reluctant to read a book dedicated to a woman who would leave her family behind…turns out, it’s my favorite so far.
3. But I don’t know yet because I just started Fireside.
4. I HEART NOAH! I have a t-shirt that says it. Just kidding, but I absolutely LOVED his character and his friendship with Bo. My favorite scenes in Snowfall are when Noah and Bo are hanging out and my favorite two lines are: Are you ready to rock and roll my brothers! (With the preceding rebel yell) and Daisy’s line at the end giving Noah and Sophie their celeb nickname of “Sofa.”
5. There are not enough hours in the day for me to go back and read your blog archives. I love my Google Reader and just started subscribing to TVFH….which is so great because I love all the behind the scenes tidbits and can’t get enough! Thank you for writing a blog, too!

Amy, I love this comment! I’m picturing a book-feeding-frenzy at the Goodwill (known as Value Village in these parts). A Tim McGraw t-shirt? Can such things be????
Noah is a little too good to be true, I admit. We all have our fantasies. 🙂
Google Reader is the best! All my fave blogs lined up. I use them as bait…I get to read if I do my day’s work.
