November 16 gratitude

Three things I’m grateful for, thanks to artists who know a picture can express something so much more eloquently than words–(I’m lagging behind “real time” here, due to deadlines.)
In case you missed it, we got our country back.

Finally! We got our country back!
Finally! We got our country back!

2. We got our country back:
We got our country back!
We got our country back!
3. We got our country back.
Yep, we got our country back.
Yep, we got our country back.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Today I am grateful that our family is safe and not in harms way as so many were in the huge wildfires down in the San Fernando Valley area and around Los Angeles.

I am grateful that my sister’s newly pinned wrist is healing nicely.

I am grateful for the weekend dinners my son and I have with my mom – excellent food and even better company !

  3. I am grateful for Randy Pausch’s words: “Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls aren’t there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show us how badly we want things.”

I am grateful that my critique partner and her family (including her 3 cats) have safely evacuated from the Yorba Linda fire, and that they might get to go home later today.

I am grateful that the thick smoke and ash in my neighborhood (miles away from the fires) has lifted and it’s easier to breath again.

  5. 1. Fun stuff like going on a ghost-hunting tour for a friend’s birthday!
    2. Opening a fresh hardcover novel for the first time, hearing it’s spine crackle, smelling the new-book smell.

  7. Grateful today for

Being able to come home to my quiet little nest after being with all the gang, snowed in at my cousins house yesterday.

Letting my 16 yr old niece drive my car to work, with me a passenger and driving in snow for the first time. She did pretty good.

That we have no snow where I live, but its coming.

  9. 1. I am grateful for being able to read everyone else’s posts about the things they are grateful for. They enlighten, they surprise, and they lift me up.

    2. I am grateful for the irresistible combination of cat + string. Hours of entertainment for both my cat and I.

    3. Grateful for the feel and scent of clean hair. I always think better when my hair is clean.

  11. I’m grateful for the hectic day we were privileged to spend with our daughter, SIL and grandkids. What fun and high-jinks, and what wonderful memories to stack one upon another!
I’m grateful that my sweet fur purrson doesn’t mind spending the day under our bed so she can be invisible to a 3-year old who would just LOVE to play with her!
I’m grateful for the quiet that permeates my house for a few hours so that I’m able to store up the energy to enjoy another day of fun and close-up love tomorrow. I’ll miss these precious parts of my heart when they go on to their new home.

  13. 1. My husband who always supports and loves me even when he wonders what I’m trying to accomplish.

    2. The holidays that are coming that will allow me reconnect with family that we don’t see very often, but that I’m glad is still a very important part of our lives.

    3. That I was able to find the books this weekend that I’ve been looking for and now the joy of opening them reading them and discovering all the new worlds that the authors have created.
