new perspective

Santa brought a new lens for the Nikon D-80. It’s a portrait lens, very fast and bright. Note the lovely depth of field. However, it’s been forever since I’ve used a fixed lens, and I need a lot more practice at it. Here are my inaugural shots. I didn’t crop these but WordPress did, sorry. Barkis is my guinea dobe:

  1. Love it ! Barkis is a great guinea dobe. (Does he know that is what he is ? VBG !) Lens does just that…….lovely Barkis portraits.

I keep meaning to find time to haul out my older Vivitar or Canon and use it like I used to. I like the digital, being so quick, right to the computer, but I miss my 35 mm…..I really like those photos you shot with it.

More food for thought, in all the “spare” time I have.

    Thank you for sharing !

  3. Aw, what a patient doggy. Beautiful photos! Aw, no more snow.

I’m a horrible photographer which is why my camera is a cheap POS. 🙂 It’s funny you use the word “Inaugural” because in this town, it’s used a lot nowadays and not in the “first time use” sense of the word. As exciting as a new President is, I’m so not looking forward to the nuttiness that surrounds the Inauguration. Part of me is curious, but not enough to go near the city.

  5. Great shots. Our kids got hubby a D200 for his birthday before we went to South Africa. He had a nice zoom lens that made the little black dots in my pictures into real big hippos.
