love your library

Lakeshore Christmas is all about loving the library. It’s even more important in real life than in fiction. This is serious, people. I am pasting this message from my friend and fellow author Vicki Hinze:

CALLING ALL AUTHORS AND READERS:

LIBRARY NEED ALERT!

We have a library in Mary Esther, FL  in the panhandle near Hurlburt Field and not far from Eglin Air Force Base, that is doing its best to service all the people in the area who rely on it.  This library has a book buying budget this year that is beyond low.  They need books.  Desperately.

We’ve all worked so hard to promote literacy, to get people to read.  But to do that, they need books.

So today I’m asking for your help.  Will you send a book to this library?  If it’s one you’ve written, fine.  If it’s one you’ve bought and read, fine.  Just please send books.

Here’s the mailing information:

Thank you!

Blessings,

Vicki

  1. Yeah! More exposure on this cause is fantastic!! I give all my books to our local library, magazines too. I feel lucky to be able to enjoy them and its great fun to pass them on. Why hoard them?

  3. Libraries are such a luxury and yet they shouldn’t be, as everyone should be able to enjoy the wonderful world of literacy. I treasure my local library and my daughter and I venture down there every couple of weeks to get our fill of exciting writing by people like yourself Susan!

  5. Our local library here was on the closure list by the city in order
to save money. This was two years ago but, there was such
an out cry from our community that we managed to save it.
I have a box of books that I was going to take into the book
exchange but, I will be happy to donate and send them to
    this library.
