hiding in plain sight

Today’s the day! A gorgeous new premium edition of THE SUMMER HIDEAWAY is on sale everywhere books are sold.

The Summer Hideaway by Susan Wiggs

Of all the Lakeshore Chronicles, this one has generated the most unusual reader requests. Several readers have written to me asking to use quotes from the book on headstones of beloved family members. A bittersweet honor.

It’s appropriate that we found one of the world’s beautiful lakes last night, on the eve of this book’s publication.

Here’s the question that haunted me while writing the book–If you’re under witness protection, how do you keep from getting attached?

  1. Tears. You don’t. You learn the joys of solitude. This quote hit me in the solar plexus, “dying is not the worst possible thing that can happen to a person. Failing to live ~that’s worse.” Yep.

I got out my copy of The Summer Hideaway and couldn’t put it down. This quote is reminiscent of an epic line in Anna Quindlen’s Black & Blue: “When the bad guy was a cop, you couldn’t call the cops.” The same is true if he’s a judge.

  3. I stumbled upon one of your books (Fireside) while I was vacationing in Florida in March. I was instantly pulled into the story and fell in love with the characters. I soon realized that the book was part of a series. I have since purchased every book in the series that I can find in the “Trade Paper” size. I have recommended your books to all the ladies I work with and my family.
I have desperately searched to make my collection complete. The problem I am having is that I can not find the “trade paper” size of the books or I can’t find the books at all.
I have 6 out of the 11 books in the trade paper size but now if I do find the book I can only find the “mass market size” I really hate that smaller size in books. With my poor eyesight they are hard to read because of the size and the color of paper that those mass market books are printed in.
I have tried to purchase the books online but when they arrive they unfortunately are not what was advertised as the trade paper size.
I would love to have the whole series in all the same size books. I still need Lakeshore Christmas, Marrying Daisy Bellamy, Return to Willow Lake, Candlelight Christmas, and Starlight on Willow Lake.
Do you have access to the remaining books that I need or do you know where I can get them? I would really appreciate any help you can provide in helping me find the remaining 5 books that I need.

    1. Hi there and thank you so much for asking! The latest editions of the Lakeshore books are being released one by one in trade paperback size. The first six are out, and the next five are scheduled for 2019 and 2020. I so appreciate your enthusiasm for reading! Cheers!
