Chef Greg Atkinson and author Susan Wiggs set for book reading at Eagle Harbor Book Company
Bainbridge Island celebrities featured in “Literary Feast” cookbook

BAINBRIDGE WA –Northwest celebrity chef, author and food instructor Greg Atkinson plus author Susan Wiggs will visit Eagle Harbor Book Company on Sunday, January 10, for a book-reading and signing event. The best-selling local authors are featured in the book, “Literary Feast, The Famous Authors Cookbook,” which is a compilation of food, drink and dessert recipes from scores of well-known authors and writers.
“This exciting literary cookbook, was under development for three years,” said project author, Terry LaBrue. “It features a piquant foreword by noted chef and author Greg Atkinson who understands both the art of writing and his way around the kitchen. Through his clear contribution, we have a greater enjoyment of food from these famous authors. His personal recipe for Chicken with Rice is also a winner.”
Nationally recognized Susan Wiggs, of Bainbridge Island, focuses on family, friends, and fiction and sometimes-even food. Some of her novels even feature her favorite recipes.
“I would never have imagined that a cookbook about top authors would be so illuminating and entertaining. The project gave me a chance to peer over their shoulders and into their lives. ‘Literary Feast’ is as eye-opening as it is page-turning,” added LaBrue.
Other notable Northwest authors such as J.A. Jance, Garth Stein, John Nance, John Saul, Deb Caletti, Curt Colbert, Julie Oliver and Nancy Pearl are featured alongside national bestselling writers such as Alexander McCall Smith, Faye and Jonathan Kellerman, and Chez Panisse’s Alice Waters.
Terry LaBrue is an acclaimed food writer who compiled “Literary Feast,” for the King County Library System Foundation. He profiled 92 local, regional and national authors and collected the recipes that range from “Feta-stuffed Chicken Breasts” to “Real Graham Crackers.”
The free author event, which is scheduled from 3-5 p.m., will allow for a meet-and-greet plus a book signing. The proceeds from the sale of the “Literary Feast” cookbook benefit the King County Library System Foundation for its system-wide literacy and reading programs. “Literary Feast” is priced at $22.95/plus tax, and can be purchased at a variety of independent bookstores, book chains and at www.thriftbooks.com.
