When I’m in fast first-draft mode, I use up ink cartridges like an undiagnosed hypergraphic. Nothing stops me quicker than running out of ink and having to dig through the drawers for more. So here’s my solution. It looks kind of like an assault weapon with extra rounds. Not very elegant. There’s got to be a be a better way. Post your ideas below! Please!

If you want to start attending the SFWC a day early (or for those who can’t attend the full 3-day main conference), the San Francisco Writers Conference has launched a full day of sessions on the day BEFORE the conference officially starts. “Several of our most popular presenters have agreed to launch the San Francisco Writers University with special SFWC PRECONFERENCE sessions on Thursday, February 11th,” said Elizabeth Pomada, SFWC Co-Director. What is different about THESE sessions? They are intimate…about 25 people getting to interact with the presenter for more project-specific help. These sessions will be in-depth—full day or half-day in length. As you can see below, the preconference day will feature a wide range of the most popular topics from the San Francisco Writers Conference.
The preconference sessions are open to the public. They are stand-alone sessions and attendees can chose one or more depending on their schedules, budgets and interest. Attendance at the Main Conference is not required.

Two weekend events bring Northwest cultural icons to Cannon Beach.
CANNON BEACH, OREGON – January 13, 2010 – The Ocean Lodge and Cannon Beach Books welcome guests the weekend of February 5–6, 2010 to listen and learn from New York Times best-selling author Susan Wiggs as she showcases her newest book, The Summer Hideaway.
Friday, February 5th from 5:30–7:00pm, join The Ocean Lodge for a light reception and book signing in the library, where author Susan Wiggs will introduce her new book, The Summer Hideaway. This event is free to the public.
Saturday, February 6th from 2:00–4:30pm, attend an English tea and writing workshop conducted by Susan Wiggs called “How to Write a Love Letter.” The workshop is $15.00 for non-hotel guests.
