"Lakeshore Christmas"

Hi Susan, I am an avid fan of your books and have read all the Lakeshore Chronicles todate. I was disappointed though when I went to buy my copy of Lakeshore Christmas and found out it was only available in hard cover. I have arthritis in my wrists and find hardcover books very uncomfortable to hold... therefore I was wondering when and/or if it will be available in soft cover??? I love the Lakeshore series and hope I get to read this latest edition!! Thanks

   *SOME SPOILERS*
Susan, I finished Lakeshore Christmas last night and it was another beautiful piece from you, the characters are to die for and their interaction and passion for eachother was remarkable. Eddie was gorgeous as all of your male characters tend to be. Loved all the young characters you brought into the mix - great to see young males doing community focussed activities and shining at it!! Loved the angel/ghost in the midst in Jabez, he was beautiful. I'm so glad Maureen stood her ground with Cecil's dad and showed her integrity. I loved her vulnerablity and then how she transformed herself with kickass boots, tight jeans and a sexy look when she went to the bar, but in turn I loved Eddie's response saying that he loved her in her fluffy slippers and jammies - that was so gorgeous. OMG - also I couldn't believe the boys at the train station - WOW I can't imagine what's going to happen with them - they were like a couple of bucks going at eachother.
Thanks again for such a wonderful journey through these characters lives.

By the way, when I was reading last night I had music going in the background and a song by Pete Murray (Aussie singer) was playing and if there was any song that reflected the way I feel after reading your family orientated books it's that one, it's called "Happy Ground" - if you get a chance to listen to it you will not be able to stop a smile coming on your face it's joyous
Cheers

Carmel

Waldon Books closed our mall store and we only have WalMart and KMart to buy books.
These stores don't have Lake Shore Christmas in hard cover.I guess I will have to wait on paperback. Looks like a long wait for me to read it.
Carmel
It was kind of like reading the end of the book first.

Sorry Mernzie, I did mention that there were spoilers in my post so I hope I haven't spoilt it for you.
Re. waiting for the book to be available - I had an issue as I live in Australia (regional Victoria) and none of my local stores had the book so I had to order it online and it took a couple of weeks before it arrived so as you can imagine I was very excited to finally have it arrive. I don't know whether Susan has audio books coming out which could be an option for Punkinhead who posted this subject.
Again I'm sorry if my post has ruined it for you it certainly wasn't my intention.
Cheers

Carmel

Having just finished this, I was very happy to get my "Lakeshore Chronicles" fix. Of course, I want more. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more interaction with the other characters. In reading series books, for me, the interaction of old and main characters is important to me. I'm happy that it went Bestseller - how exciting that must be. I'm going to hope that the next Lakeshore book will catch us up on some old characters as well as whatever new story there is. Call me selfish or nosy, but my enquiring mind needs to be updated on the whole cast of characters.

I was on a waiting list of more than 180 people at the library for this book. I got it within 2 days, and finished it in 2 days. Now I want more, more, more!!

My goodness, where is this amazing library where I have 180 on the waiting list?!

I must know! I will send them some extra copies of the book!

Thanks for sharing that, it made my day.

I completely agree with you about paperbacks. Love them! LAKESHORE CHRISTMAS will be published in paperback next year. Gah, that seems a long way off.

Here is an article I wrote about the situation:
http://susanwiggs.wordpress.com/2009/10/19/fair-enough-question/

A tad bit of good news -- the book is deeply discounted at most retailers, notably Amazon and Wal-Mart. There's a price war going on and readers win.

For people who have a Kindle, Nook or e-Reader, the news is great. These devices weigh next to nothing and downloads are around $10.

Thanks for posting!
