A gracious hello to booklovers one and all! Here's the place to post about pretty much anything that's on your mind. You can ask Susan anything-how old she is, how much money she makes, how much she weighs...but just remember, she's a fiction writer! But her mom's here to keep her honest...and tasteful. Susan and I will check in often to shoot the breeze with you. Jump on in! --ClaraLou

"ocean between us"

my husband was an air force pilot for 32 years, and it was splendid to find a book about a military family. once i started it, i couldn't put it down, and that is hard with my lifestyle. Not only that, as soon as i finished reading it, i read it again. I would love to see more about the characters. Did they retire in Washinton, how did the Naval acadamy go and so on. PLEASE. A three book series would be outstanding!

I'm hearing you - I was in the Defence Force for only 6 yrs as I had my first born and had to discharge out of the Army as my husband (ex now) was posted to Papau New Guinea (not to far from Aust where I hail from). You certainly discover have to deal with many challenges living in another country. My experience would be nothing like yours but I found reading this wonderful book that life in the Forces certainly has it's ups & downs, but I don't think I would have changed any of it. Susan's "Ocean Between Us" I would classify as one of her best stand alone books that I've read. It had me on edge and experiencing so many emotions - frustration, anger, excitement, fear, you name it I felt it. I've passed it onto a friend from work who has become hooked now as I feed her every book I've read of Susan's, gotta share the love!! I agree that followup on this family would be fantastic but I wonder when Susan would have the time, she sounds like one busy lady!!
Cheers

Carmel
