Our little group just finished discussing this one, and we all enjoyed it!

Something about the people at Avalon...their stories seem to come into my life at just the right time! There were some very good lessons in this one.

The groups at PassPorter have come full circle with the Lakeshore Chronicles. Most of us have read BOTH Fireside AND Just Breathe already.

Susan, do you have any more books planned for these characters?

How do you decide what to do next?

Sandy, I love the passporter boards! Friendliest place on the Internet, if you ask me. It totally makes me want to re-visit Disneyland.

I have the next 3+ Lakeshore books planned. There is a big whiteboard on my wall with everyone's name & age ... the tribe is growing! And there is no end in sight. I have such a strong affection for this group of characters. thank you so much for reading,

Susan

Well, it looks like you have your own fan club over there.

I just don't know how you keep all the people in Lakeshore organized, because they are always popping up in the background here and there.

About how many books do you write in year?

I write from one to three books per year. It's definitely a full time job for me. I often work overtime!

In the Lakeshore books, it's getting easier, in a weird way. Every time I have a random walk-on character, like a receptionist or shopgirl or waiter or whatever, I try to recycle someone I've already used in that row.

Certain background characters keep popping up. I might have to do something with them in future books. Daphne (law office receptionist) interests me. And Yolanda from FIRESIDE.

We never met her in Fireside but learn she moved to Avalon. In subsequen t books we see there is a new Bridal Shoppe in town, called Yolanda's.

I would love to hear more about Yolanda. I found her to be a very interesting character.

I know what you mean about the recycling. It is fun when you throw (write) a big party and people pop up from other books in the background.

Don't you have a new LakeShore Chronicles book scheduled for this October? I have some people who have been asking me about that.

Hi all, I'm so excited I picked up "Snowfall at W L" from the library this afternoon as I've been waiting for someone to finally return it so I could read it. I just have to finish my Susan Krinard book first and then I'll get cracking on this one - I'm over the moon!!!

Thanks for ordering it from the library.

Speaking of Disney, now for something COMPLETELY different - a strange photo essay on Disney princesses: http://www.jpgmag.com/stories/11918

I finished "Snowfall at W L" last night and shed a few happy tears - I love that family so much - what a beautiful man Noah is and hot!!! OMG Susan you're too much!! These men in your imagination drive me crazy - can you send some to Australia - there's certainly a drought of those kinds of guys downunder!
I was just reading your Reading Group questions and it's really interesting to actually ask those questions of yourself - it makes the book come to life even more, as sometimes I think you can go through life without questioning why you make decisions and whether you may have done things differently if you had your time over again. Especially the dreams you have before having children and how your priorities can totally do a 360 degree flip. It's amazing how children can totally change your view on life, they're often a challenge but I wouldn't change them for the world!!
Thanks again Susan for a lovely book about discovering love in places & at times when you least expect it and how that can turn your life around, as it did for beautiful Sophie and her wonderful man Noah. The inclusion of the gorgeous orphans was the icing on the cake! Loved it!! Loved it!!
Now I have to wait for Fireside from the library - waiting to see if my ordered copy I'm buying online will get to me before the library copies avilable!!
Cheers
Carmel

Carmel, this is such a thoughtful post, I'm quoting it back to you. Thanks for reading the book and being nice enough to post. I'm glad the discussion questions were food for thought.

When you write fiction, you have to be really analytical. I think it's made me more analytical about my life, too, which may or may not be useful!

Sophie and Noah will get cameo appearances in a couple of future books. Currently she's helping someone with a Living Will in THE SUMMER HIDEAWAY.

Thanks Susan, I'm really enjoying your books they warm my heart (sorry sounds corny I now but it's true). I'm so excited that these wonderful characters will feature again in the series. I've also enjoyed reading more about this most gorgeous place especially under snow cover - sounds magical. I live in central Victoria in Australia and it doesn't snow here so Willow Lake is lovely to visualise.
Thanks again

Carmel

Wow, you are in a beautiful spot, too, snow or no snow. I've never been, but I've seen photos. I have family in Nhulunbuy (gove) NT of all places and have toured Arnem Land. but apparently never learned to spell it. <G>

Yeah Susan, I think Australia is a wonderful place to live and bring up my girls. I've actually never been to the Northern Territory but have heard it's magical with places like Ayers Rock (Uluru), Kakadu and the amazing outback. I had a quick look at where your rellies live, it's right at the tip of Australia, that's one hot, humid location!
I'm originally from South Australia and come from a family of 11 children so it's fantastic living in a country with free speech, a relaxed prosperous society with no internal conflict like so many other countries. Anyway, I hope one day to see these brilliant locations and come over to some of the places you describe with such passion. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
Cheers

Carmel
