G’day mate!

August 26, 2009

Sorry, couldn’t resist. I love saying g’day. And I just love the look of the Australia/New Zealand/Malaysian edition of Just Breathe.

I like it so much, I think I’ll give away an extra copy. Post a comment–tell us what you’re reading now–and I’ll do a random drawing.

  • Just Breathe was my first “Susan” book ever and it was what got me hooked! I am methodically working my way through your entire book list, and enjoying myself so much! Right now I am reading your contribution to Two of the Deadliest, then Miranda and Merry Christmas Baby!!! I am also in the middle of the Elm Creek Quilt novels by Jennifer Chiaverinni and throw in Debbie Macomber books when I have time. (I am working my way through her list also!) Thanks again for the hours of pure reading pleasure.

Quick update on my daughter…she loved listening to Just Breathe on CD. Thank you again, so much! It got her started and she has since been taking advantage of the offereings of our local library. She was an avid reader from an early age, so the loss of her vision has been extremely difficult for her. She even worked at our local library from the age of 15 all they way through heading off to grad school!

And just yesterday at the Minnesota State Fair I found a machine at a Low Vision store booth that will help her be able to read again. If only I could go out back and pick the $2500 it costs off of my money tree. I am determined to see she gets it though. I want to be able to give that part of her life back to her.

And speaking of daughters, how is that beautiful newlywed of yours???

  • I just finished reading my first Susan Wiggs novel – Summer by the Sea. I can’t believe I haven’t found you sooner. In other words, “where have you been all my life?” I love the recipes in the book. I jumped right in and made the ricotta cheese cookies (fabulous – having one right now!) I’m going to try the ciambellone next! Anyway, thank you for writing a book that I can share with my mother, aunts, cousins and grandmother and not have to be squeamish about the intimate scenes! I’ll be going right out to find more of your books. I think I’ll print out the list. Thanks for a great read and some new recipes!

  • I just finished Just Breathe a few weeks ago and I really liked it. However, I always love your books. I am now reading My Fairy Grandmother by Aubrey Mace. She is a new author and I really like her, too.

  • Should I be embarassed? “C is for Corpse” by Sue Grafton! My (housebound) grandfather is tearing through the whole series at lightning speed so I wanted to be able to share some of it with him. Summer is the right time for fun who-dun-its and romances!

  • As you know we are in “Cedar Cove” and I just got “92 Pacific Boulevard” and have read a whole three pages. You are so right about Carol, she is a doll and we are having a great time. See you tomorrow…….

  • What a sweet cover! I loved this book! The Aussie cover makes me feel like dreaming on the beach and wishing I wasn’t back to work! I adore your books, thanks for sharing your gift! I just finished Susan Mallery’s “From the Hip” which was great while I await your next Lakeshore story!

  • I am reading “Summer By The Sea.” My neighbor has all your books and introduced me to you and I LOVE your books! I’ve read 11 since the end of April, and I am not a book worm by any means. Can’t wait for the Lakeshore Chronicles book to come out in a month or two. I just finished reading the last one, “Fireside” on Tuesday. Did I miss the drawing??? Loved that book! That was the 2nd one I read of yours.

  • Last night I finished reading Dune Road by Jane Green. My next read will be Halfway to Heaven by you (my mom brought it over yesterday). After that I have three books waiting for me at the library: My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Piccoult, Loitering with Intent by Stuart Woods and Finger Lickin’ 15 by Janet Evanovich. I love to read!

  • Right now I am reading Springwater by Linda Lael Miller. I having been looking for a copy of Just Breathe but all the books stores here are sold out of their copies. Next after the Springwater series will be re-reading Fireside!

  • Right now I am reading the third book in the Nora Roberts In the Garden trilogy. It’s called Red Lily. The other two were fabulous I cant wait to see how it ends.I have been trying to get Susan Wiggs Just breathe from our library but havent been succesful yet.I guess ill hae to sae some money so I can buy it somehow.

  • Oh Margaret, I too wish I was in Port Orchard this week. I just bought the latest Cedar Cove book and Debbie’s cookbook. Susan, are you going to Cedar Cove Days?

  • I’m in the middle of a re-issue by Debbie Macomber, Midnight Sons, Vol 2…wishing I was there in Port Orchard for Cedar Cove Days.

The cover is nice but I would like to know why there is a delay in publishing “down under”?

On the other side, one my fav authors, Maeve Binchy just recently released Heart and Soul here in the U.S. But it was released in the UK, etc almost a year previous.

  • I just finished Love Finds You in Valentine Nebraska by Irene Brand. Plan to read Sarah’s Key next. Would love to have a copy of the Australian Just Breathe to go with the American one I won in a previous drawing. I loved it, bought one for a friend and have several quotes marked to copy in my quote journal.

  • Just starting reading Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning. And…you’re right…the Aussie cover really captures the story!

  • Wow, the cover is gorgeous. At the moment I am re-reading Ill Wind by Rachel Caine. I love the weather concept and rain sounded nice!

  • Pulled Fannie Flagg’s “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” off my TBR shelf and am loving it. I know, I know, what took me so long? My TBR shelf is extensive!

  • love, love, love your books! right now I am reading The Master Quilter by Jennifer Chiaverini. trying to read all in the series.

    • Here’s my silly question… What specifically is the diff between US version and other countries’ versions?
I have the US verison of Just Breathe and prefer that cover better… for whatever that’s worth.
Love all your books! Thanks for many hours of enjoyment.

  • Oops – forgot to say what I’m reading now… just getting ready to dig into the Emma Holly Midnight trilogy… I waited until I had all three. I hate delayed gratification. 🙂
